Seasonal events highlight holidays

More yuletide events will light up the season in coming days in Brunswick County and the surrounding area. Activities slated in coming days include:

•“A Holiday Tribute to the Nightmare Before Christmas,” 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, and Friday, Dec. 12, at West Brunswick High School theater and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at New Beginnings Community Church, 730 Whiteville Road. Admission is $5 and $3 with two non-perishable food items.

•“Journey to the Manger” dinner theater, 7 p.m. Dec. 11-14, Ocean View Baptist Church in Ocean Isle Beach. Tickets are $20 and sell out every year. For information, call the church office at 579-6833 or 575-2748.

•The second week of Southport’s Christmas Festival By The Sea ensues with Sea Notes Choral Society concerts at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 12, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Hatch Auditorium in Caswell Beach (donations accepted); “Winter Night Song: Reflections of the Christmas Eve Wanderings of E. Scrooge, Esq.,” at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at Amuzu Theatre, 111 N. Howe St. in Southport (tickets $17 and $10); a Southport Holiday Concert at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Southport Community Building Deck; holiday entertainment at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fort Johnston Garrison House; and the Southport Christmas Tour of Homes 2-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 (tickets $10 advance; $15 day of tour). •A holiday concert featuring West Brunswick High School vocal music and dance students is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Odell Williamson Auditorium at Brunswick Community College. Admission is free. Audience members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry.
