Shallotte crime report

Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police reports.

•Daniel Lawrence Roth, 25, of Old Mill Creek Road SE, Winnabow; charged with assault with a deadly weapon, drunk and disruptive and resisting arrest. He allegedly pulled a box cutter out of his pocket, placed it on the counter at Wal-Mart and told the clerk there would be “blood at Wal-Mart tonight.” He kept trying to get out of handcuffs and would not obey orders. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center.

•Bobbi Lyn Davis, 36, of Captain’s Wheel Avenue SW, Supply; charged with shoplifting, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at Wal-Mart. She was taking UPC tags off items and was attempting to leave with the items. She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center and placed under a $1,000 secured bond.

•Larceny of tools at Wal-Mart; suspect stuffed two measuring tapes, a drill bit set and an auto wrench in his pants and left the store. The responding officer chased him through two other stores before losing him.

•Assault at Kangaroo of Shallotte; suspect punched victim in the face.

•Fraud/obtaining property by false pretenses at Food Lion; suspect defrauded the cashier out of $90, asking for a $100 bill and saying the cashier only gave him a $10.

•Vandalism/property damage at KFC; suspect tried to make a turn through the parking lot and accidentally got truck’s rear wheels stuck in the landscaping, causing $1,000 in damage to the restaurant’s property.

•Larceny of wallet at Miss Minnie’s Antiques; victim’s wallet was taken by a customer. Victim’s credit cards were later used at several local businesses.

•Vandalism/property damage on Wildwood Drive; suspected vandalized residence with graffiti, causing more than $2,500 in damages.

•Breaking and entering and larceny of equipment on Whiteville Road; suspect cut and took padlock from a storage building on a construction site and removed $289 worth of tools in a tool kit.

•Breaking and entering and vandalism/property damage at Andy’s Cheesesteaks; suspect broke glass door, causing $500 in damages.

•Counterfeit check at State Employees Credit Union; victim received a prize notification in the mail from Consumers Lottery and cashed the $3,990 check at the credit union. The money was taken out of the victim’s account along with an additional $5. The victim spoke with people from the lottery company, and they did not give him any information.

•Larceny of a catalytic converter at Jones’ Ford; suspect stole a $2,100 catalytic converter from a Lincoln Town Car.

•Vandalism/property damage on Fox Street; suspect damaged interior of victim’s residence, causing $6,500 in damage.

•Jennifer Wilson Simmons, 31, of Willard Lane, Shallotte; cited for walking out of Food Lion with concealed goods and merchandise including Kool-Aid, body mist, body wash and Orajel she did not pay for.

•Robert Rhodes, 43, of Maple Creek Road, Supply; cited for stealing and carrying away two 24-packs of Budweiser in cans, two packages of ground beef, two stacks of bacon, two packages of liver pudding, two cases of Coke, two gallons of milk, five pounds of ham, four rib-eye steaks, two porterhouse steaks and 24 strip steaks.

•Cody Taylor, 17, of Oyster Lane, Supply; cited for misdemeanor larceny.

•Brett Douglas Burris, 16, of Sherrow River Drive, Shallotte; cited for misdemeanor larceny.
