Shallotte crime report

Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police reports.

•Joshua Matthew Potter, 27, of Holden Beach Road, Supply; charged with being drunk and disruptive at the Lowes Foods parking lot. A patrolman was dispatched to the store in reference to an intoxicated driver. He found Potter unresponsive in the back seat. When he finally woke him up, Potter was being rude and started to yell and curse. He was placed in the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $500 secured bond.

•Police charged Teresa Gail Smith, 46, of Union School Road, Shallotte, with driving while impaired. She was driving on Whiteville Road. She was taken to Brunswick County Detention Center.

•Embezzlement at Owendon Drive; suspect used $90,000 in company funds for his own use.

•Breaking and entering, larceny and vandalism/property damage at Piccolo Milano; suspect broke glass out of door, causing $200 in damage, entered the business and removed a $200 gumball machine

•Breaking and entering, larceny and vandalism/property damage at Patty’s New York Specialties; suspect broke glass out of door, causing $200 in damage, entered the business and removed a $700 gumball machine

•Larceny at Wal-Mart; suspect removed a $99.88 HP printer and other unspecified items without paying for them.

•Lost or stolen cell phone; victim lost a $100 Alltell cell phone somewhere in Shallotte.
