Shallotte Crime Report

The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

•Alicesha Elizabeth Nye, 23, of 4377 Mary St., Shallotte, was arrested for trespassing and failure to appear after being caught shoplifting at Walmart; Nye had a warrant for first-degree trespassing and was charged with trespassing again because she was told not to come on Walmart property.

•Kevin Vinson Scott, 23, of 1352 Sweetwater Lane, Supply, was arrested for shoplifting and resisting arrest at the Scotchman’s in Shallotte; suspect was arrested for shoplifting from the Scotchman’s on N.C. 130 and the Scotchman’s on Main Street. Scott was transported to the Brunswick County Detention Center and held on a $2,000 bond.

•Kevin Vinson Scott, 23, of 1352 Sweetwater Lane, Supply was arrested for driving while license revoked and concealing wine/liquor in public; suspect was arrested at the Shallotte Police Department after video evidence was found of Scott driving while license revoked. Scott was transported to the Brunswick County Detention Center and held on a $250,000 bond.

•Gun violations by carrying a weapon on Federal Government property at the Smith Avenue post office; suspect walked into the post office with a badge and a gun on his side.

•Breaking and entering by someone entering a residence on Fairway Drive in Shallotte; victim returned to the home to find the front door unlocked and lights on inside the home.

•Larceny of gasoline by siphoning from a vehicle on Mulberry Street, Shallotte; $30 worth of gas was siphoned from an U-Haul truck.

•A vehicle struck a pedestrian in the Family Fare parking lot on Main Street in Shallotte; vehicle was pulling away from a pump and struck a pedestrian walking out of the store.

•Forgery and uttering by fraudulent use of the victim’s checking account at Walmart; on two separate occasions the victim’s check was attempted to be cashed in the amount of $2,179.40. The victim has the original numbered check in her possession.

•Larceny of tools by removing items from the back of a truck; a pancake compressor and a multi-tool were removed from the victim’s toolbox.

•Simple assault by pushing the victim at Shallotte Assisted Living on Mulberry Street in Shallotte; the victim reported being pushed by the suspect who is also a resident at Shallotte Assisted Living.

•Larceny from a boat on Village Road in Shallotte; victim docked at Inlet View and returned to find a GPS, a fish finder, 36 mile radar, four speakers, two VHF radios, a remote stereo and a custom electronic box missing from the boat.

•Harassment by the suspect calling the victim multiple times; the victim has been to court over the same situation with the suspect.

•Larceny of property by removing items from a Fairway Drive residence without permission; victim’s stepdaughter removed a clock and a blue wall decoration without the victim’s permission.

•Vandalism by writing religious sayings on benches at Riverside Park in Shallotte; vandals used permanent marker to write Biblical phrases and sayings on the wooden bench structures causing an estimated $200 worth of damage to the town’s property.
