The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

The Shallotte Police Department office is closed to the public while the building undergoes renovations. Anyone wishing to speak to an officer or obtain a copy of a police report must go to the Southend Task Force building at 130 Cheers St. The number to reach the police department is 754-6008.

•Animal control at a Cheers Street apartment; victim’s bird was attacked and killed by neighbor’s cat.

•Disturbance and false imprisonment on Mulberry Street; suspect was holding victim against her will at Autumn Care.

•Stephen Neill Duncan, 35, of 63 Fisherman’s Trail, Tabor City, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for larceny after causing a disturbance at Autumn Care.

•Juan Lopez Contresas, 30, of 4499 Old Pine Log Road, Chadbourn, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Kathy Carter Nunes-Tiscareno, 53, of 65 Meagan’s Way, Chadbourn, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Eleazar Espinoz-Castellanas, 47, of 1199 Darralee, Supply, was charged with order for arrest for failure to appear for DWI and possession of marijuana.

•Defrauding an innkeeper at Andy’s Cheesesteak on Main Street; suspect consumed meals without paying.

•Larceny of license plates from the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot on Whiteville Road; suspect removed victim’s license plate from vehicle.

•Larceny of prescription medication on Brooks Court; suspect took items without owner’s consent. Items include electronic gaming systems, movies, workout video, pajamas, $40 cash and 30 Percocet.

•Lost wallet at Go Gas on Main Street; victim left his wallet.

•Arson on Brooks Court; suspect discarded a cigarette and started a fire in pine needles/straw.
