Shallotte Crime Report

The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

The Shallotte police department office is closed to the public while the building undergoes renovations. Anyone wishing to speak to an officer or obtain a copy of a police report must go to the Southend Task Force building at 130 Cheers St. The number to reach the police department is 754-6008.

•Larceny of a Bluetooth device at Econo Lodge; victim’s Bluetooth device was taken from room.

•Jeremy Craig Stanley, 36, of 1657 Stanley Cove Way, Shallotte, was charged with eight felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense and one felony count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense. See a related story on page 1A.

•Cognitively impaired subject in the Home Depot parking lot; subject thought the reporting party was family.

•Larceny on Birch Pond Drive; suspect took a washer and dryer from an apartment.

•Vandalism in the Coastal Cinema’s parking lot; the suspect stabbed the victim’s tire with a razor.

•Simple assault in the Birch Pond parking lot; suspect slapped victim.

•Breaking and entering on King’s Grant Court; suspect broke into victim’s garage and put two frozen chickens outside.

•Assault with a deadly weapon on Paisley Drive; suspect attacked victim with a kitchen knife.
