Shallotte Crime Report

The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

The Shallotte police department office is closed to the public while the building undergoes renovations. Anyone wishing to speak to an officer or obtain a copy of a police report must go to the Southend Task Force building at 130 Cheers St. The number to reach the police department is 754-6008.

•Khiry Devon Hamilton, 22, of 1224 Hale Swamp Road, Shallotte, was charged with failure to appear.

•Drunk and disruptive on Northside Drive; suspect was intoxicated and used vulgar language.

•William Tyler Miller, 25, of 5080 Northside Drive, Shallotte, was charged with drunk and disruptive.

•Obtaining property by false pretense on Holden Beach Road; suspect collected a $50 donation fraudulently.

•Obtaining property by false pretense on Holden Beach Road; suspect collected a $45 donation fraudulently.

•Bomb threat at Waffle House on Whiteville Road; suspect called the business and advised there was a bomb.

•Vandalism in the parking lot area of Aaron’s Rent to Own; someone scratched right side of the front of a vehicle.

•James Collin Rafus, 21, of 1574 Elon Drive, Supply, was charged with simple possession of schedule IV and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a medical call for a woman passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. She was found holding a syringe in one hand and a spoon with pills in her lap.

•Rachael Way, 33, of 2600 Break Water Lane, Supply, was charged with DWI, open container, no operator’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Jonathan Leroy King, 45, of 6554 New Grounds Trail, Leland, was charged with aiding and abetting a DWI.

•Missing person at Planet Fun; circumstances are unknown.

•Larceny of a bank card and obtaining property by false pretense on Wildwood Street; suspect took a bank card from victim’s purse and used it.

•Trespassing at Brierwood Estates; suspect entered the pool area.

•Lost wallet at Big Lots; victim’s wallet was missing from her purse inside the store.

•Michael Brent Johnson, 23, of 4315 Caroly Ave., Shallotte, was charged with failure to appear after being stopped for a seat belt violation.

•Deshon Clemmons, 39, of 915 Oyster Lane, Supply was charged with stealing from Walmart.

•Melissa Kay Cornwell, 42, of 2385 Captains Wheel Ave., Supply, was charged with stealing from Walmart.

•Obtaining property by false pretense on Main Street; suspect collected money fraudulently.

•Obtaining property by false pretense; suspect attempted to collect money fraudulently.

•Larceny of petroleum at Family Fare on Main Street; suspect pumped gas and didn’t pay for it.

•Abandon property at Black’s Tire Center; someone left used motor oil in a five gallon container at the business.

•Traffic crash on Shallotte Crossing Parkway; a vehicle struck a bicycle.

•Karen Diana Coley, 35, of 2011 Nagshead Road, Supply, was charged with stealing from Walmart.
