Shallotte crime report

Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police reports.

•Kidnapping on Bridgers Road; suspect was forced at gunpoint into the trunk of his car.

•Embezzlement by malfeasance at First Bank; suspect used organization’s funds for her personal use. She reportedly paid the money back when confronted.

•Larceny of property on Shallotte Avenue; suspect took 37 items worth $14,965 from victim’s property.

•Breaking and entering and larceny of medication on Main Street; suspect broke into victim’s house, stole $60 worth of Vicodin and broke the screen door, valued at $300.

•Obtaining property by false pretenses; suspect pawned victim’s drill for $36.60 without the victim’s knowledge.

•Breaking and entering and vandalism at Davita Dialysis Center; suspect slashed victim’s convertible roof, causing $2,000 in damage.

•Domestic disturbance on Cheers Street; suspect was loud and verbally abusive to victim. Police Chief Rodney Gause ordered the suspect out of the house and told him not to return.

•Credit card fraud at First Citizens Bank; suspect charged five airline tickets costing a total of $1,645 on victim’s debit card without victim’s knowledge.

•Vandalism at Birch Pond Apartments; suspect struck victim’s fence with vehicle, causing $80 in damage.

•Vandalism near Village Road; suspect removed a hanging flower basket installed by the town.

•Breaking and entering and larceny of television on Arnold Street; suspect entered victim’s residence and took a 57-inch television valued at $2,000.

•Larceny of tools at Lowe’s Home Improvement; suspect stole a $75 skill saw and a $30 orange grinder from victim’s truck bed.
