Shallotte Crime Report

The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

Feb. 23

Property damage in Big Lots parking lot; a shopping cart collided with the victim’s car causing $500 damage to the front fender.

Child custody violation on Cheers Street; suspect violated a child custody agreement.

Feb. 27

Property damage at the Scotchman’s on Whiteville Road; suspect drove away from a gas pump without removing the gas nozzle.

Property damage on Todd Road; suspect took a vehicle and caused damage to the sod grass on the land.

Feb. 28

Assault on Village Road; suspect tossed a beer bottle out of a window and struck a female.

Juan Carlos Corona, 31, 4910 Bridger’s Road, Shallotte, arrested during a traffic stop for an outstanding warrant for a worthless check.

March 1

Property damage to a vehicle on MacGregor Drive; suspect used a tool to scratch victim’s car door while it was parked in the driveway.

March 2

Breaking-and-entering, larceny and property damage at China Buffet in the Shallotte Crossing Shopping Center; suspect forced entry into business and stole $900 cash, seven packs of cigarettes, a mandolin guitar, a Chinese temple figurine, 40 $1 coins, $100 in nickels, $25 in pennies, $500 in quarters and $250 in dimes and damaged a steel frame glass door, a metal door and a security camera.

Breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle of two portable DVD players, four credit cards, an insurance card, a driver’s license and a social security card on Bay Village Road, Shallotte.

March 3

Ashley Michelle Hagler, 31, 508 Red Fox Street, Shallotte, order for arrest and driving while license revoked.

March 4

Credit card fraud on East Coast Lane; suspect charged victim an unauthorized amount.

Obtaining property by false pretense on Main Street.
