SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police reports.

•Police charged Brandon Lee Clark, 28, of 1050 Sirwood Place, Sunset Beach, with identity theft on Dec. 13. Police reported Clark obtained $1,008.92 in property with a fictitious credit card. He was taken to Brunswick County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond. The next day, police charged Clark with breaking and entering an automobile. He was again taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond.

•Police charged Deborah Lee Istvan, 37, of 4355 Owendon Drive, Shallotte, with identity fraud. She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond. Istvan allegedly obtained $1,008.92 in property with a fictitious credit card.

•Police charged Marcello Elksteban Bodkin, 20, of 2618 Waitaker Drive, Greenville, with possession with intent to sell and deliver. The reporting officer stopped Bodkin’s vehicle due to an old 30-day tag with the expiration date not visible. The officer noticed paraphernalia and the smell of marijuana coming from the suspect. The officer obtained consent to search the vehicle and discovered a bag of marijuana in the passenger floor board and two bags on the person. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

•Police cited Tamara Maria Kelly, 30, 5810 Kingtown Road, Ash, for stealing $62 worth of merchandise at Belk.

•Police cited James Douglas Smith, 34, of 5680 Fieldview Trail NW, Ash, for taking $32.28 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

•Larceny of shoes at The Shoe Depot; suspect switched a pair shoes on a shelf, valued at $109.99, for shoes she was carrying in a handbag.

•Larceny at Food Lion; suspect removed two scented PlugIns valued at $5.49.

•Property damage on Sunrise Avenue; suspect broke window of victim’s vehicle, causing $250 in damage.

•Harassing telephone calls on Whiteville Road; suspect kept calling victim repeatedly.

•Breaking and entering and larceny of a purse at Betty’s Uptown Restaurant; suspect entered victim’s vehicle and removed her purse during the Christmas parade.

•Armed robbery at the Scotchman; suspect robbed the store possibly with a gun under his shirt, taking $90 in cash.
