Shallotte crime report

Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police reports.

•Police charged Charles Dupree Norris, 46, of 661 Dosher Road, Chadbourn, with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer stopped his car for having fictitious plates. The officer had a K-9 walk around the vehicle, and it indicated the car contained drugs.

Upon search, the officer found a bag containing residue in the driver’s side floor. He searched Norris and found a bag containing .01 grams of cocaine. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond.

Dupree was also cited for having fictitious plates and driving while license revoked.

•Police charged Christy Williamson Norris, 38, of 661 Dosher Road, Chadbourn, with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after a K-9 responded to a car in which she was traveling.

She admitted she had cocaine on her and pulled a bag containing 1.4 grams of cocaine out of her shirt. She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond.

•Fire investigation at Lowe’s Home Improvement; suspect set fire to a display of new flowers in front of the garden center, causing $500 in damage. The fire department extinguished the blaze.

•Credit card fraud on Shell Point Road; suspect made $775.75 in unauthorized transactions using victim’s check card.

•Harassing telephone calls at Microtel; suspect made sexual comments on the phone.
