Shallotte crime report

Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police reports.

•Police charged Megan Marie Gray, 24, of 2762 Flamingo Road, Shallotte, with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and driving left of center. She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $2,000 secured bond.

•Police charged Nellie D. Johnson, 34, of 4541 Sweet Bay Drive, Southport, with driving while impaired, driving left of center and failing to change address on driver’s license. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $1,000 secured bond.

•Police charged Melissa Horne, 44, of 262 Laughing Gull Court, Ocean Isle Beach with misdemeanor child abuse in the Family Dollar parking lot. She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $2,000 secured bond.

•Police charged David Shawn Moody, 31, of 36 Polaris Place, Waynesville, with larceny of a motor vehicle. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center.

•Assault at Paisley Drive; suspect struck the victim with a cordless phone.

•Police cited Daniel Worth Shaw, 18, of 1990 Burney Ford Road, Clarkton, with possession of a half ounce or less of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

•Larceny of golf clubs on Arnold Palmer Drive; suspect took two sets of golf clubs valued at $2,200 and $1,799, a $200 cell phone, $160 in cash and a $200 range finder after victims left their bags at the rear of their vehicles.

•Domestic trespassing on Whiteville Road; suspect tried to force her way into victim’s apartment, then put a letter under victim’s door asking for his television set.

•Larceny of consumable items at Food Lion; suspect tried to take four steaks valued at more than $50 from store.

•Larceny of shelving at Tienda Tropicana; suspect stole $1,200 worth of metal shelves from behind the store.
