Shallotte man charged with stealing handguns from a pawnshop

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested a Shallotte man for stealing two handguns from a local pawnshop.

On Monday, May 10, detectives arrested Gregory Glen Schupman, 26, of 938 Palmer Drive, Shallotte, and charged him with two counts of felony larceny of a firearm, according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley.

According to Stanley, Schupman allegedly stole two handguns from Jenny’s Pawn and Jewelry on Holden Beach Road.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s detectives Tony Caison and Ed Carter responded to the business Monday, and after an investigation, received information that led to Schupman’s arrest.

Within three hours of the larceny being reported, Schupman was taken into custody. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center, where was on $10,000 secured bond at press time.
