Shallotte police are investigating an apparent robbery early the morning of Friday, Aug. 9, during which four people were stabbed.

Two burglars broke into a residence on Village Point Road about 1 a.m. and stole an undisclosed amount of money and electronics, Capt. Scott Branning said.

Three of the victims were treated and released from Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center; the fourth was taken by a trauma unit to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington and later released, he said.

Branning said he could not release more details, such as a description of the burglars or the exact items they stole, citing the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 754-6008.
