Shallotte police officers investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from patrol activity reports:
• Police arrested Mark John Kelly, 34, of Ocean Haven Road, Ocean Isle Beach, on one count of felony larceny for stealing jewelry, a wallet, money, a pink bar of soap and tiber bar, a DVD player, a small craft hammer, a box of beads and a cheese spreader from a residence on Arnold Palmer Drive. He was taken to Brunswick County Detention Center and placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
• Larceny of an LCD television at Shallotte Crossing. Reporting party stated a white male approximately 6-feet tall ran out of the front door with a 26-inch television and got into a small green car and left the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
•Breaking and entering and larceny on Main Street. Suspect(s) took office equipment, a copy/fax machine, a 12-inch concrete saw, black book shelves, rakes and shovels, a sledge hammer and a transit tripod from a business.
•Larceny of a wallet at Shallotte Crossing. Suspect took a wallet from victim’s car while he was in a store.
•Larceny of a laptop computer at Birch Pond Apartments. Suspect stole the computer from an unlocked residence.
•Larceny of currency on Main Street. Suspect took $200 from a purse.
•Strong-arm robbery of a ring on Mulberry Street. Suspect forcibly removed the ring from the victim’s finger.
•Larceny by employee on Whiteville Road. Suspect stole $1,186.78 in U.S. currency by taking it from the safe.
•Vandalism/property damage on Paisley Drive. Suspect spray painted an obscenity on victim’s rear window and slashed the driver’s side front tire.
•Vandalism/property damage on Main Street. Suspect struck a flower pot with vehicle.
•Vandalism/property damage at Shallotte Crossing. Shopping cart struck a vehicle, causing $350 damage.
