The Shallotte Shock under-12 girls’ soccer team completed its season by winning  the Pleasure Island Soccer Association championship. The girls finished a yearlong season undefeated, winning two league championships and the St. James Cup tournament in Charleston S.C.
“We talked all year about how hard it is to go undefeated in any sport and the girls ran off 23 straight games without a loss,” head coach Mark Giordano said. “The girls have attended soccer camps as a team as well as practiced two to three times per week for months. They are a committed group of girls and parents that rarely ever miss a practice and always come ready to work out hard.
“The girls are all looking forward to their next test, which is trying out for their middle school soccer teams next year. Thanks to coach Mike Adcock as well as our sponsor for the past three years, Brush Dental Care, Jeffrey T. Mintz, DDS.”
