Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team

The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team.

The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

From April 30-May 6 special operations set up checkpoints on Belville School Road, Mount Misery Road, N.C. 133, Green Loop Road, N.C. 179, Lincoln Road, N.C. 904, Old Georgetown Road and Middleton Road.

Deputies issued cited 129 total traffic violations.

The following suspects were charged:

•Robert Grissom, 54, of 254 Mockingbird Lane, McAdenville, was charged with DWI.

•Jimmy Tant, 51, of 1134 Midway Road, Bolivia, was charged with DWI.

•Alan Green, 53, of 4957 Kitts Court, Southport, was charged with DWI and open container.

•Timothy Hamilton, 54, of 6690 Hewett Street, Ocean Isle Beach, was charged with DWI.

•Terry Faulk, 55, of 263 Floral Lane, Southport, was charged with DWI and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance.

•Angela Hewett, 43, of 682 Pine View Drive, Supply, was charged with DWI.

•Crystal Baker, 27, of 656 Wingate Drive, Wilmington, was charged with DWI.

•Kelly Damron, 35, of 1520 Idlewood Court, Leland, was charged with DWI.

•Gordon McLaughlin, 21, of 4917 Pleasant Oaks Drive, Wilmington, was charged with DWI and possession of marijuana.

•Lorenzo Estribero, 33, of 4696 West Trace Drive, Southport, was charged with DWI, no insurance, driving while license revoked and failure to register.

•Bobbi Lyn Davis, 40, of 2371 Captains Wheel Ave., Supply, was charged with DWI, no insurance, fail to register, no inspection, expired registration and fictitious registration.

•James Allen Long Jr., 31, address not available, was charged with possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana.

•Corey Johnson, 36, of 4115 Wrens Crossing, Little River, S.C., was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Larnell Simpson, 33, of 1901 Phillips Ave., Greensboro, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Donald Keene, 47, of 4917 Dreamweaver Court, Southport, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Henry Morant, 19, of 4 Philipi Road, Kingstree, S.C., was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
