Brush Dental Shock U13 girls won their second game of the season, 5-0. The Shock won with a balanced attack, as five girls scored goals.
Leah McDonald, usually a defender took a pass from Lauren Dimuzio and scored her first goal for the Shock.
“Leah also helped her team out by playing goalie and stopping the opponent’s most fierce attempt on goal,” coach Mark Giordano said. “Leah has played on the Shock for over three years and has kept an open mind to playing any position that will help her team.
“Hope Simmons, also a tremendous defender, was given some time on the offensive side of the field and quickly scored off an assist from Mia Adcock.”
Caroline Hawthorne, Kayla Crouch and Logan Autry each added a goal to complete the Shock’s 5-0 shutout.
The girls were led on defense by Nicole Gibbs, Amity Croft and Ashley Oakes.
“Ashley is another player that played out of her normal position to give others scoring opportunities and played her new position very well,” Giordano said.
“The Shock controlled the middle of the field with great play from Logan Schlutz and Hayley Giordano in maintaining a relentless offensive attack.”
