Short and sweet meeting in Ocean Isle Beach

OCEAN ISLE BEACH—“We may have set a record,” said Mayor Debbie Smith as the board of commissioner’s regular December meeting adjourned on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

The meeting lasted just a few minutes more than 30 minutes.

During the meeting Daisy Ivey, town administrator, said the natural canal-dredging project is ahead of schedule. The dredge is operating on a 12-hour daily schedule, six days a week with no operations on Sunday. The project is expected to be complete by March 31, 2013.
