When Kristen Smith, then 12, took a coffee table and set it up in an open space, her dad, Wayne, proudly anticipated what was about to happen. Kristen hauled another coffee table to the same area and set it across from the first table. Needing one more object to complete a make-believe pattern of barrels for a barrel race, Kristen grabbed a lawn chair and set it in a spot to complete the triangular pattern.
“I thought it was great,” Wayne said.
