Show me your artistry and passion for Brunswick County

-A A +A
By Rachel Johnson, Staff Writer

I challenge each and every one of you to show me the beauty you see every day in Brunswick County.

From beautiful beaches and waterways to lakes and swamps to tobacco and cotton fields to old barns and livestock, Brunswick County is a unique place to call home.

This year I hope you will share with me images from your individual experiences with Brunswick County through the Beacon’s Brunswick Life photography contest.

Entries are being accepted and will continue until noon Friday, Nov. 4.

Show off your photographic talents and share your corner of the county with others. Winners will receive cash prizes and inclusion in future Brunswick Beacon publications.

There are three divisions to include all ages. The kids division is for ages 12 and younger. The teen division includes ages 13 to 18 and the adult division is 19 and older.

There is an entry fee of $5 per photo in the adult division. The kids and teen divisions are  free. Participants may enter as many photos as they wish.

Photos will be judged on originality, representation of theme (Brunswick life) and   technical merit.

As a past judge, I urge participants to think outside the box of a beach sunset or sunrise. Show us something we have never seen before and showcase its beauty.

Winners in each division will receive cash prizes: $100, first place; $50, second place; $25, third place. Prizes will be awarded at the judges’ discretion.

Entries must be submitted in a digital format (.jpg) in the highest resolution possible. Entries must be burned to a CD and dropped off at the Beacon office, 208 Smith Ave., Shallotte, or mailed to P.O. Box 2558, Shallotte, NC 28459.

Please clearly label all entries “Brunswick Life Photo Contest.” Do not submit print entries or via email. All entries must be submitted with a completed entry form, which is also available online and on page XXXX today.

I am excited to see what makes Brunswick County unique to you as we showcase life here.
