The signs are all around us; we just have to open our eyes

My son-in-law made his request months ago. He wanted to surprise my daughter, his wife, with a trip to Hawaii for their 20th wedding anniversary.

Knowing I was planning to attend my 15th college reunion and would be in the Northeast in early June, he decided to organize their venture to coincide with mine.

This gave all of us an opportunity to stretch our faith—theirs in relinquishing “control” of their children and mine in renewing my parenting skills, albeit from an older and wiser place!
