Sloup second in golf regional

  South Brunswick junior Ashley Sloup finished second and West Brunswick sophomore Cameryn Smith fourth in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Class 3A East Regional golf tournament.

On Monday at Birchwood Country Club in Nashville, Sloup shot a 78, finishing second by one stroke to Currituck’s Marley Felthausen.

Smith shot an 86.

South’s team won the regional. Freshman Jordan Saunders shot a 102, sophomore Janzen Jones a 107 and freshman Lilly Beecroft a 128.
