Patrick and Ashley Smith of Carolina Shores are the parents of a son, Jacob Carey Smith, born at 10:24 a.m. May 21 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center weighing 5 pounds and measuring 16-inches long.

He joins a sister, Rachel, age 5.

Maternal grandparent is Pamela Wells Anello of Ash.

Paternal grandparents are James and Teresa Smith of Wilmington.
