Smithfield’s Chicken ’N Bar-B-Q may soon serve Shallotte area

SHALLOTTE—Another dining option may be just around the corner for Shallotte.

The planning board has approved site plans for a Smithfield’s Chicken ’N Bar-B-Q restaurant.

The proposed restaurant would be at 4670 East Coast Lane next to Golden Corral off U.S. 17.

John Kinlaw, president of Kinlaw Realty, is representing the buyer and the seller in the real estate transaction.

“There is a whole lot of other permitting that has to be done before it’s all done. I anticipate this will close out by end of April,” he said.
