WHITEVILLE—It wasn’t the way South Brunswick girls’ basketball coach Mike Isenberg wanted to end the regular season.
But it was just what the doctor ordered for the Whiteville Lady Wolfpack, who took an early lead and never looked back in defeating South Brunswick 34-25 in a battle of Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference also-rans.
“Even tough Whiteville beat us tonight, we won one more game in the conference than they did,” Isenberg said. “Three of the four 2A schools make the playoffs so we’re the No. 3 seed.”
