Southport Baptist Church had its first baseball/softball clinic Feb. 16 at Bill Smith Park and nearly 100 students ages 5-12 participated.
The kids learned fundamental skills about hitting, fielding and throwing from volunteer coaches from the church and local schools. They also enjoyed fun, fellowship and free snacks provided by the church’s outreach committee and other church donors. Event organizers said Southport Baptist would be planning more sports clinics for local students as an outreach to the community.
