Southport Trinity sponsors Kids Fishing for Christ

Christian fellowship, nature and fun come together in a ministry for children called Kids Fishing for Christ. Presented by Southport Trinity United Methodist Church, the event will span 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. June 11 and June 18 and is open to area youth ages 8-12. 

All interested children are invited, and participants need not be members of Southport Trinity. There is no cost and lunch will be provided.

The June 11 session will begin at 9 a.m. at Southport Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 E. Nash Street, Southport, with devotions and a wildlife presentation and move to fishing at St. James Plantation. The following Saturday, June 18, kids have the opportunity for lots more fishing at Dutchman’s Creek and from boats on the bay after gathering at the church at 9 a.m. for devotions. 

According to Jim High, event organizer, the mission of Kids Fishing for Christ is to provide ministry for children through Christian worship, fellowship, mentoring and stewardship with nature. Registration should be made by calling Jim High at (840) 1234 or Sherry Gibbs at 457-6633.
