Southwest Brunswick Newcomers Club to meet in Shallotte

The Southwest Brunswick Newcomers Club (SWBNC) will meet from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Nov. 11, in the fellowship hall of Shallotte Presbyterian Church, 5070 M.H. Rourk Drive in Shallotte.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for new members to join and to sign up for scheduled activities.

The featured guest speaker will be Robert Bradicich, who served with the 28th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army from 1943-1945. His book, “World War II As I Lived It,” tells of his military service in Europe when he was 18-years-old. Bradicich will share some of his experiences in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Siegfried Line and the Battle of the Bulge. He recently participated in an honor flight of World War II veterans, who flew to Washington, D.C. to visit the World War II Memorial.
