The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team.
The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.
From Sept. 17-23, special operations deputies set up checkpoints on Pea Landing Road, Mount Misery Road and Midway Road. They seized marijuana, crack and prescription pills.
The following suspects were charged:
Jacques Lamarche, 23, of Leland, possession of a half-ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gerard Walker, 55, of Leland, possession of a half-ounce or less of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony possession of cocaine.
Daniel McKeithan, 31, Supply, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of schedule II controlled substance.
Kimberly N. Ayscue, Supply, DWI.
Terrance Alston, Navassa, DWI.
Davin L. Smith, Bolivia, assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, fleeing/alluding, possession of a half-ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jonathan Gause, Ash, DWI.
