Special Operations Report

The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team.

The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

From Dec. 31 through Jan. 6, special operations deputies set up checkpoints on Stanley Road, the on-ramp to Mount Misery Road, Boones Neck Road, N.C. 74 West ramp, Maco Road, Redbug Road, Holden Beach Road, N.C. 211 at Camp Branch and N.C. 130 at Mirror Lite.

Two subjects were arrested for felony possession of 771 grams of synthetic cannabanoid and several thousand paraphernalia pieces.

The following suspects were charged:

Lydia Baker Clymer, 52, 2632 Live Oak Drive, Supply, DWI.

Shay Allen Gales, 20, 7257 Lula Street SW, Ocean Isle Beach, driving while license revoked, DWI, driving while consuming less than 21, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of synthetic cannabanoids.

Amy Hutchins, 33, 453 Candlewood Drive, Bolivia, DWI and open container.

Christopher Bell, 33, 9833 Bell Way, Navassa, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brittany Noelle Miles, 18, 1001 Wind Lake Way, Leland, DWI and possession of alcohol under 21.

Tyler Chaz Reeves, 18, 2067 Tanglewood Drive, Supply, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Richard Lee Lovett, 24, possession of synthetic cannabanoid and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Matthew Tyler Thorsen, 26, 3792 Marsh Hen Drive, Shallotte, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kasandra Marie Chavis, 18, 3620 Farmer Ward Lane, Bolivia, possession of marijuana, possession of synthetic cannabanoid and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ronald Evan King, Jr, 19, 5301 New Britton Road, Ash, possession of marijuana, possession of synthetic cannabanoid and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gilad Mor, 42, 1951 Tree Circle, Surfside Beach, S.C., possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Anthony Wright, 26, 1483 Mill Pond Road, Whiteville, possession of a stolen weapon, possession of a concealed weapon, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Justin Jackson, 21, 401 Wright Street, Wilmington, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tiffany Ard, 31, 600 Bear Grass Road, Longs, S.C., DWI and driving while license revoked.
