Special Operations Report

The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team.

The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

From Jan. 21-27, special operations deputies set up checkpoints on Boonesneck Road, Beach Drive, Mount Misery Road, assisted with a DEU search warrant, public safety and court and participated in a SWAT call-out.

They also patrolled the Ash area and assisted the drug enforcement unit.

The following suspects were charged:

Christina Davis, 28, of Wilmington, possession of half-ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Libby Ferguson, 20, of Rustburg, Va., possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.

Jonathan Unger, 25, of Winnabow, possession of drug paraphernalia.
