Special Operations Report

The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team.

The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

From Nov. 12-18, special operations deputies set up checkpoints on U.S. 17, N.C. 133, Randall Parkway in Wilmington with the Wilmington Police Department, Mount Misery Road and Four Mile Road. They patrolled the Leland, Winnabow, Ocean Isle Beach, Shallotte, Supply, Calabash and Navassa areas.

The following suspects were charged:

Reynaldo Robles, 41, of Austin, Texas, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of synthetic cannabinoid.

Angie Smith, 45, of Marietta, S.C., possession of half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Antonio Cabrera, 35, of Southport, possession of half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Charles Styes, 34, of Wilmington, possession of half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lorenzo Salinas, 19, of Leland, possession of half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sencalia Brown Grey, 59, of 9109 Green Loop Road, Leland, DWI.

Stephanie A Rooyen, 43, of 6402 Birkdale Lane, Greensboro, DWI.

Fallon Farber, 25, of 1222 Mapletree Drive, Leland, DWI.

Thomas Johnson, 74, of 209 Morning View Way, Leland, DWI.

Mark Gutierrez, 23, of 9404 Walker Street, Lot 30, Leland, DWI, open container and driving while license revoked.

William John Wyble, 53, of 6402 Birkdale Lane, Greensboro, DWI.

Matthew William Bender, 28, of 3893 White Blossom Circle, Southport, DWI.

Michelli Quami Hassell, 41, of 2869 White Dove Circle, Supply, DWI.

Jacob Brice James, 32, of 1800 Clemmons Road, SE, Bolivia, DWI.

Timothy Shaun Blake, 29, of 90 Bell Swamp Road, NE, Winnabow, DWI.

Karen Halso, 49, of 1127 Sunburst Way, Leland, DWI.
