Speedy meeting as town looks ahead to 2013

SHALLOTTE—Isaac Norris, CPA, presented the 2011-2012 fiscal year audit to the Shallotte Board of Aldermen during a pre-agenda meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012, the town’s general fund revenues for were $4,453,703 for 2012 with expenses at $3,467,751 for a net revenue of $985,952. Revenues for fiscal year 2011 were $4,034,443 and expenses were $3,800,150 with a net revenue of $234,293.

The water and sewer fund saw revenues of $2,482,576 with expenses at $2,668,055 for a net loss of $185,479. In fiscal year 2011, revenues were $4,547,648 with expenses at $2,625,131 and a net income of $1,922,517.

The board moved into its regular meeting and again discussed a possible bow hunting ordinance for the town. No action was taken and the matter will be discussed again in the new year.

The January meeting will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8. A schedule of 2013 board of aldermen meetings is available online at www.townofshallotte.org. Meetings are at 110 Cheers Street in the chambers. Regular meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at 5:15 p.m.
