Senior golf tourneys

Feb. 20, Cape Fear National Golf, $45, 8:30 a.m. sign-in, 9:30 start. Price includes cart fee, greens fee, refreshments and prizes. Cart attendant’s tip is not included in price.
March 20, Tiger’s Eye at Ocean Ridge, $45, 8 a.m. sign-in, 9 a.m. start. Price includes cart fee, greens fee, cart attendants, refreshments and prizes.  
April 25, Oak Island Golf, Brunswick Gator Senior Games qualifier. For Brunswick Gator Senior Games participants only. Senior Games registration packet must  be completed by March 8 to play in this tournament. Call 253-2670 for more information.

Tufts scores ace
Steve Tufts scored his third hole-in-one Jan. 16 at Brunswick Plantation. He used a 5-iron to ace the 151-yard seventh hole of the Magnolia course. Playing partners were Dave Cionek and Gary Kershner. Tufts recorded his second hole-in-one May 22, 2012, at Brunswick Plantation on the second hole of the Azalea Course.

In the Calabash dart league Jan. 8, first were Mike Walton, Dennis Major and Gene Faessler. Second were Pat Burkhart, Pat Perryman and Rich Thomas. Third were Marty Green, Joe Lenz and Andy Kocsis.

Cedric Simmons update
Cedric Simmons started and played 19 minutes in Enel Brindisi’s 83-71 loss Jan. 20. He scored eight points and had seven rebounds. He blocked one shot. The team is 8-8 and tied for eighth in the 16-team league. Simmons is third in the league in blocking shots (1.4 per game).
