West Brunswick sports calendar

April 6-12, subject to change

April 6: Ashley tennis at OIB Tennis Center, 4:30 p.m. Soccer at East Bladen, 6 p.m.

April 7: South Brunswick tennis at OIB Tennis Center, 4:30 p.m. Four-team track meet, 3:30 p.m. Golf at Land-O-Lakes, 2 p.m.

April 8: Baseball and softball at South Brunswick, 6 p.m. Soccer at the Brittany, TBA

April 9: Soccer at the Brittany, TBA.

April 11: First day of conference championship tennis tourney, 1 p.m. at OIB Tennis Center. Conference championship golf tourney, 1 p.m. at Oak Island Golf Club

April 12: Second day of conference championship tennis tourney, 1 p.m. at OIB Tennis Center. Baseball and softball vs. North Brunswick, 6 p.m.

LIGHTHOUSE RUN

The 12th Annual Oak Island Lighthouse Run and Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. April 16. Registration may be made at www.lighthouse10k.com. Race packet pickup and registration will take place from 5-7 p.m. April 15 at the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber Welcome Center or from 6:30-8 a.m. April 16 at the N.C. Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell. Entry fee is $25 per person for the 5K or 10K and $5 for the fun run. 

MEN’S SOFTBALL

Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department is offering men’s softball league. The leagues play a regular-season schedule followed by a double-elimination tournament. The season starts early August. Team registration fees are $500. Teams will play on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings at Lockwood Folly, Shallotte Park or Smithville Park. Two divisions of play may be offered based on level of competition. A league managers meeting is 6:30 p.m. July 15 on the second-floor training room of the Administration Building in Bolivia.
