Sloup wins non-league match

In a three-team nonconference golf match among the South Brunswick, Ashley and Hoggard high schools Oct. 7 at the St. James Plantation Founder Club, South’s Ashley Sloup was the winner, shooting a 49.

The golfers played the back nine, a par-36 of 2,600 yards.

South’s Stefanie Zapf shot a 51 and Madison Brendle and Abby Kjome 53s in leading the Cougars to the team victory over Ashley, 153-179. Molly Gore shot a 55.
