North baseball fish fry set for Feb. 18
The annual North Brunswick baseball fish fry will be 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 18 at the NBHS baseball field. Plates are $6 each and include boneless fish fillets, cole slaw, baked beans and hushpuppies. Fifteen or more plates can be delivered. All proceeds go to the baseball program at NBHS. Contact coach Randy Fennell at 540-0264 for more information.   

Coed softball registration
Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the 2012 coed softball leagues. Team registration fees are $500. Teams will play on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings at Lockwood Folly Park, Shallotte Park or Smithville Park. The league managers’ meeting is 6:30 p.m. May 10 at the Parks and Recreation Building in the second floor conference room. Brunswick County Dixie registrations
Registration is open for the 2012 Dixie Boys Baseball (ages 13-15) and the 2012 Dixie Belles (ages 13-15) and Debs Softball  (ages 16-19) programs. Registration deadline for Dixie Belles and Debs is Feb. 24 and the deadline for Dixie Boys is March 2. Registration fee is $50 for both programs. For more information, call 253-2670. Coastal men’s baseball league
The workout and draft for Wilmington area players will be 1 p.m. Feb. 26 and March 4 at Northwest Park in Leland. This will be for all new players not currently on a team. Contact Greg Allen at info@coastalmensbaseball.com or call 620-2507.
Reverse raffle banquet Feb. 25 at West
The popular West Brunswick Athletics Boosters Club reverse raffle banquet will take place 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at the school cafeteria. Tickets are $100 for a dinner for two. The grand prize is $5,000. Contact West Brunswick athletics director John Floyd at 398-2740 to purchase tickets. Floyd said he hoped to sell at least 250 tickets. “If we sell 250, we’re rolling,” he said. The raffle netted about $13,000 last year, Floyd said.

Tennis lessons begin in March
Tennis lessons begin in March and at three locations (Ocean Isle Beach Park, Smithville Park and Lockwood Folly Park). Classes are in the evenings from 3:45-7 p.m. depending on your skill level. Lessons are $65 per person and registration is required. Call Ruthie McHugh at 253-2583 to register or for more information.

Youth swim lessons begin in March
Youth swim lessons for those ages 4-9 will take place Mondays through Thursdays at the Winds Beach Club, Ocean Isle Beach. The first session begins March 19 and ends March 29. The second session begins April 16 and ends April 26. Fee: $65. Call 253-2583 to register or for more information.

Lucky Leprechaun 5K Run March 10
The Lucky Leprechaun 5K Run March begins at 9 a.m. March 10 at the Winds Beach Resort at Ocean Isle Beach. This will be a celebratory, holiday event. Race participants are encouraged to dress in St. Patrick’s Day apparel.
The 5K course will take participants on a scenic tour of the eastern part of the island. The race will begin and end in front of the Winds Beach Resort (310 E. 1st St.). Adults can sign up before Feb 23 for $25 and kids 12 and younger can sign up for $15. After Feb. 23, registration is $30 and $20, respectively. T-shirts are only guaranteed to those who register by Feb. 23.
Proceeds from the race will provide scholarships to low-income youth and adults for participation in Brunswick County Parks and Recreation programs. To register visit: www.Its-Go-Time.com Registration deadline is March 5.
