Youth cheerleading and football

Adult men’s, women’s softball
Accepting registrations for the men’s softball league May 16-July 18. The season starts in early August. Teams may play on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings at Lockwood Folly, Shallotte or Smithville Park.

Coed softball registration
Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the 2012 coed softball leagues. Team registration fees are $500. Teams will play on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings at Lockwood Folly Park, Shallotte Park or Smithville Park. The league managers’ meeting is 6:30 p.m. May 10 at the Parks and Recreation Building in the second floor conference room. Swim programs at Gore Aquatics Center
The Dinah E. Gore Fitness & Aquatics Center at Brunswick Community College offers a variety of American Red Cross Programs throughout the year. Coming this spring the Aquatics Center is offering learn to swim lifeguarding and water safety instructor courses. Learn to be a certified lifeguard or update your lifeguard certifications in the lifeguarding and lifeguard recertification courses: 5:30-6:30 p.m. June 5, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. June 11-14; recertification April 13, April 17 or April 19.

N.C. Baptist Assembly swim programs
Open swim time at the N.C. Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell pool for Brunswick County residents and visitors will be 9-11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday June 18-Aug. 10. Cost is $3 per person. Child swim lessons, stroke development class, water babies/preschool swim lessons and adult learn-to-swim lessons will also be offered. Call 278-9501 or visit www.fortcaswell.com. Registration is also open for Camp Seabreeze and Coastal Explorers at the N.C. Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell.
