Senior softball
The Brunswick County Slammers senior softball team is looking for new members. Open to all men 55 and older. Call (910) 253-2670 for more information.

Southport Baptist Church baseball/softball camp
The Southport Baptist Church’s baseball/softball camp for players ages 5-12 is Feb. 16-17 at Bill Smith Park in Oak Island. The event is free and will include coaching for all ages and skill levels. There will be free refreshments and door prizes.
The skills camp is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. each day, with registration at
1:30 p.m. at the park. Come early to register or RSVP to guarantee your spot by calling (910) 457-6816 or by emailing ministry-secretary@southportbaptist.org.

Winter fishing seminar
A winter fishing seminar will take place from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Oak Island Recreation Center. Fishing captains, Jerry Dilsaver and Jimmy Price will be sharing tips and techniques that may make you catch more fish. Capt. Dilsaver will cover king and offshore fishing. Capt. Price will talk about flounder and inshore species.
The fee is $60 per person in advance ($70 at the door) and those attending will receive a bag filled with samples, lunch and door prizes. County basketball games on ATMC-TV
ATMC-TV will televise girls’ and boys’ Brunswick County high school varsity basketball rivalry games on ATMC Cable Channel 3 through Feb. 14. The girls’ games will be televised Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. and the boys’ games will be televised Thursday nights at the same time. This is the schedule:
The Jan. 29 WBHS vs. NBHS girls’ game will be televised 9 p.m. Feb. 6. The boys’ game will be televised 9 p.m. Feb. 7.
The Feb. 6 NBHS vs. SBHS girls’ game will be televised 9 p.m. Feb 13. The boys’ game will be televised 9 p.m. Feb 14.
