SHALLOTTE—Local Smart Start agencies should learn to “get creative” with their funds to ensure children ages 0-5 have proper care and education in light of the state budget shortfall, the president of the N.C. Partnership for Children told the Brunswick County Smart Start board of directors.
Stephanie Fanjul met with the board at its meeting last Thursday. She talked about budget challenges as well as opportunities possible with the proposed federal stimulus package.
