Here at the Beacon, we’re constantly evaluating what we’re doing and how well we’re doing it.
In the past year, we’ve made a number of content and design changes to better serve our customers. As we continue to grow and develop, we’re always looking for feedback from our readers.
This week, I ask you to take a look at the two pages of television listings that appear on 5C and 6C. The pages feature a sampling of televisions channels offered by local cable companies, as well as broadcast channels.
In our current format, we don’t have the space to list every channel available, but we have tried to offer a sampling of some of the more popular channels.
Over the years, the channel list has been updated, based mainly on suggestions from our readers.
But with the evolution of on-demand television guides offered by many cable and satellite providers, we’re not sure if what we’re offering still best meets customers’ needs.
Are you a customer who relies on our television guide? What do you think of it? Why do you use it? Are there things we can do to make it better?
If you don’t already refer to our guide, why is that? Can you find the information in other places? Do we provide enough, or not enough, of what you’re looking for?
What could we do here to make our television listings something you would use on a regular basis?
We’re interested in hearing suggestions about everything from the listing’s content to the way it’s designed. Is there a way we can make it more user friendly?
If we decided to eliminate the pages from our newspaper, how would you feel about that?
Getting feedback from readers like you is important. Every opinion counts, even if it isn’t always a positive one. We just ask everyone be constructive and offer solutions along with grumblings about what isn’t liked.
The best way to share ideas with me is via e-mail. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also mail a letter to Stacey Manning, The Brunswick Beacon, P.O. Box 2558 Shallotte, NC 28459.
If it’s better for you to make a telephone call, you’re welcome to do that, too. You can reach me at 754-6890 ext. 17. If I’m not immediately available when you call, feel free to leave a message with your feedback.
It’s also helpful if you’ll leave a name and phone number, that way if I have questions about your suggestions, I can get back to you if I need more information.
A lot of good ideas about changes to the Beacon have been made through requests just like this. We’re excited about hearing from you again.
