West camps are this month
The West Brunswick Lady Trojans’ basketball summer camp is 8-10 a.m. June 19-21 at the West auxiliary gym for those ages 8 to rising eighth-graders. The camp fee is $30 and campers will be taught to compete in individual and group drills to improve their basketball skills. All campers will receive a campo T-shirt. Mark Jones, the West varsity girls’ basketball coach, and Sheila Williams, a former West player who was all-conference at Elizabeth City State College, will be the instructors. The West Brunswick High School volleyball camp is 9-11 a.m. June 13-15 at West. This girls’ camp is for rising fifth- through eighth-graders. The coaches are Drew Dull and Leslie Reeves and they will cover the basics of the game, have contests, queen of the court and other activities. All will receive a camp T-shirt. The fee is $30, payable to WBHS Volleyball.
The West Brunswick High School softball camp for rising third- through eighth-graders is 1-3 p.m. June 13-15 at West. Call camp director Joe Noble at 443-1138 for more information.

Powerhouse Warriors camp is June 18-21
Powerhouse Warriors summer basketball camp, open to rising second- through eighth-graders, is June 18-21 at West Brunswick High School Gymnasiums. Camper drop-off and shoot-around starts at 5:30 p.m. Drills and workouts from 6-8 p.m. Cost is 50 ($5 discount available if signed up by June 8). Cougar football camp
The Cougar football camp for those ages 6-15 is 6-8 p.m. July 24-27 at Bill Smith Park on Fish Factory Road. The fee is $30. The Cougar Youth Football Organization sponsors the camp, which will focus on fundamental training and position instruction. Contact David Kelley at 612-4912 for more information.

Soccer camps
The Tetra Brazil Soccer Academy and British Soccer Camps will be offered this summer in Brunswick County. This camp is run in conjunction with Boiling Spring Lakes Parks and Recreation, Brunswick County Parks and Recreation, Oak Island Parks and Recreation and Southport-Oak Island Youth Soccer Association.
All camps feature British and Brazilian coaching staff, free camp T-shirt, free soccer ball and individual skills evaluation. The British Soccer Camp dates July 30-Aug. 3 at Bill Smith Park and Aug. 6-10 at Ocean Isle Beach Park. The Tetra Brazil Camp dates are July 23-27 at Northwest District Park.
