SUNSET BEACH—Residents are getting ready for the sixth annual Sunset at Sunset festivities scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 6.
Festival hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in and around the parking lot at the Village at Sunset Beach.
Highlights include a multitude of quality vendors, crafters, food booths and nonprofit groups, and all-day entertainment. Three bands are slated to perform.
Organizers say it’s a day to offer residents and visitors a chance to come together as the busy tourist season draws to a close.
One of the area’s most popular beach music bands, The Entertainers, will launch festivities with a performance at 11 a.m.
The Brunswick Big Band, an annual favorite at Sunset at Sunset, plays at 1 p.m. and will showcase lead vocalist and Sunset Beach resident Linda Ladrick.
The finale entertainment of the day will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a performance by the 82nd Airborne Division Band.

The third annual 5K Fun Run for adults and children will kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Sunset Beach island gazebo. Co-sponsored by Fitness Studio and Lowes Foods, the fun race is appropriate for all types and levels of walkers and runners alike.
