Sunset Beach eyeing expansion east, north of 904

SUNSET BEACH—The town of Sunset Beach plans to pursue expanding its northeast boundaries.

At a brief Sunset Beach Planning Board meeting last Thursday morning, town building inspector Jeff Curtis outlined a map showing where expansion possibilities will be addressed with Brunswick County, north and east of N.C. 904 up to Old Georgetown Road.

Expansion of the town’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) would wrap around the property where a continuing care facility is proposed for construction.
