Sunset Beach meetings scheduled Monday

Sunset Beach Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the town hall conference room with its newly appointed 50th-anniversary committee.

Council’s regular monthly session starts at 6:45 p.m. Monday for a 15-minute work session, followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m.

On the agenda is a public hearing for public comments regarding the proposed Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).

Also on the agenda are continued discussion of Withers & Ravenel’s park master plan presentation and grant direction; consideration of policy adoption for request of private-road repair assistance; council chambers renovations discussion; consideration of appointment of 50th-anniversary committee liaisons; and updates on Jaguar’s Lair and sewer.

New-business items include a vision plan for the Sunset Boulevard north corridor and consideration of a contract renewal with Waste Industries.

Council is slated to go into closed session at the end of Monday night’s meeting to consult with the town attorney, pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11 (a) (3) addressing attorney-client privilege, regarding Jaguar’s Lair.
