Sunset Slush expands into Wrightsville Beach, Charlotte

-A A +A

Sunset Slush-Classic Italian Ice of Ocean Isle Beach continues to expand this season with the opening of its ninth location at Wrightsville Beach.
The most recent addition to the retail operation is owned and operated by Drew Sellers, a Brunswick County native and a 2008 graduate of UNC Wilmington. After graduation, he moved back to Ocean Isle Beach due to the economy and limited job opportunities. His younger brother, Devin, worked for Sunset Slush of Ocean Isle Beach and introduced his family to the Italian Ice.
The idea of becoming a Sunset Slush independent operator was initiated by the brothers. They approached their parents about the idea in 2009. After a long year of presenting their business dreams and much prayer, the brothers finally convinced their parents to open a retail shop on Holden Beach. Drew became the manger of Sunset Slush of Holden Beach while Devin continued his studies at ECU.
The 2010 season was successful at Holden Beach; however, Drew’s goal was to open in Wilmington. After months of searching, they found the perfect location on the Wrightsville Beach Causeway next to the Surf City Surf Shop. His dream became a reality when Sunset Slush of Wrightsville Beach opened on Saturday, June 11, at 530 Causeway Drive in Wrightsville Beach.
Sellers is looking forward to introducing Sunset Slush-Classic Italian Ice to the Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington area this summer. For more information, call (910) 679-4571. Follow them on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/sswbwilm.
The most recent addition to the retail operation is a kiosk in Southpark Mall in Charlotte, owned and operated by Robert Horner. The kiosk opened on June 15.
Sunset Slush LLC, has three independent operators in the Charlotte area: Sunset Slush of Charlotte, Chris Germain with the concession stand at Stowe Park in Belmont; Sunset Slush of Matthews, Harry and Sherri Stokes with a pushcart vending operation; and Sunset Slush of Southpark Mall, its newest location. Horner is the 17th independent operator to join the Sunset Slush family.
Horner has a business degree in business management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He is the former owner of The Paddy Wagon Transportation service in Wilmington and Ernest Capital Management Inc., a real estate investment corporation. Horner can be reached at (866) 599-7260 or email support@sunsetslushofsouthpark.com.
