Supply man accused in church break-ins

A Supply man is accused of breaking into two churches Sept. 1, according to a release from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

Charles Joseph Williams, 41, of 212 Maple Creek Drive, was arrested at his home Sept. 4 and is charged with two counts of breaking and entering a place of worship, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, one count of breaking and/or entering, and two counts of injury to real property.

A safe and a container of coins were taken from Oak Grove Baptist Church, and a bag of pennies was stolen from Harvest Fellowship Church in Supply.

Williams also is charged with two more counts of breaking and or entering, two more counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two additional counts of injury to real property, one count of larceny of a motor vehicle and one count of possession of stolen goods, all stemming from incidents that happened from Aug. 1 to Sept. 4 in the Supply area.

Williams is being held in the Brunswick County Detention Facility on $500,000 bail.
