A Supply man was arrested Tuesday for stealing a truck with more than $11,000 worth of appliances in it.

According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. April Stanley, detectives responded to the Kangaroo at 16 Ocean Highway West around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, when someone reported a stolen truck.

Stanley said the truck, which is owned by Crossroads Appliances, had about $11,351 worth of appliances in the truck bed when it was stolen.

After reviewing video surveillance at the gas station and getting a description of the suspect, detectives spotted a man walking around Bojangles’ in Shallotte who matched the description of the suspect around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

“Upon further investigation, the subject, identified as Richard Steven Eury, was taken into custody without further incident,” Stanley said.

Eury, 39, of 2730 Eleanor St., Supply, was charged with one count of felony larceny of a motor vehicle and one count felony larceny. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center, where he was placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
