Supply man faces murder charge in woman’s death

A Supply man is charged with murder after one of the people he is accused of shooting during the weekend died, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit arrested 36-year-old William Calvin Steward after they said he fired a rifle into an occupied vehicle Friday night, April 11.

Iqueisha Tequila Monique Collins later died as a result of the shooting, which happened about 11 p.m. at Steward’s 750 Eastfield Lane residence during a party, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The second victim, Deontray Bryant, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, warrants show. His condition was not available.

Steward is charged with murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling or moving vehicle, maiming without malice, and two counts each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted first-degree murder, the release said.

Steward was in custody in the Brunswick County Detention Facility on $1 million bail Saturday, April 12. On Monday night, April 14, he was being held without bail.
